2024 CHEVROLET TRAX DELIVERS BEYOND EXPECTATIONS

Chevrolet has not been asleep at the wheel. No, they’ve been busy making sure that all of their crossover offerings are going above and beyond for their customers. 

For 2024 the Chevy Trax is larger and has more standard and optional features than before. In terms of cargo space, it has 25.6 cu.ft. behind the rear seats, 54.1 with those seats down, and a total of 99.8 cu.ft of passenger volume. 

For 2024 the trim levels stay the same, with the LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ. You can also have your choice of 17, 18, and 19-inch wheels. 

More For Your Money

The Trax now sports push-button start, automatic climate control, an optional wireless charger for your phone, and optional adaptive cruise control. New standard equipment for LT, 2RS, and Activ trims include an 11-inch multimedia touchscreen display for the infotainment system and an 8-inch digital gauge cluster display. Wireless Apple CaPlay and Android Auto are standard, which is great in a sub-$22,000 vehicle. You have to spend upwards of $50,000 to get that in most German luxury cars. And you can still option the WiFi hotspot, too. 

Standard safety features are extremely important, and the Trax really takes it up a notch with Chevy Safety Assist. That brings with it automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert, auto-high beam control, and a following distance indicator. 

Bulkier Without Compromise

General Motors say that inside, this new Trax is 2 inches wider, 11 inches longer, and has 3 more inches of rear legroom. Total cargo capacity, they say, increased by almost 12%. 

The base prices of the 2024 Trax brings incredible value for all consumers. The standard LS’s MSRP is $21,495, with the 1RS being $23,195 and $23,395 for the LT, while the 2RS and Active models both cost $24,995. All prices are not including destination and handling fees. 

A Quality Motor

The only engine available for all Trax models is the fuel-efficient EcoTec 1.2-liter Turbo Inline-3 that makes 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, respectively. The EcoTec is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
