Reasons to Have a Home Charging Station for Your Chevy EV
Should You Get an At-Home Charging Station for Your Chevy Electric Vehicle?
Electric vehicles are different in many ways. One way in which they are different that you may not expect is that you can “refuel” them at home.
This is unique to electric vehicles. After all, you don’t have a gas pump at home, do you? In order to refuel a gasoline-powered vehicle, you have to visit the gas station. With an electric vehicle, you have options. Those options are to refuel at home or refuel at a public charging station.
What question is, should you invest in an at-home charger if you are buying an electric vehicle? Is it worth it?
Benefits of At-Home Charging
We say that, yes, it is worth it. Although it isn’t necessary, having the ability to charge at home will benefit you during your ownership experience in many ways.
The first way is that it will save you time. Filling a car up with gas takes no more than a minute. Charging an electric car battery from near empty to full takes longer. Now, many fast charging stations available to the public can top things off for you if needed, but if you want to make sure you’re good to go each morning, charging at home is the way to go.

Another benefit is that an at-home charging station is affordable. Gas prices are all over the place, and usually, gas isn’t cheap. Electricity is less likely to break the bank, so once you’ve made the initial purchase of the charging station, you’ll be able to save both money and time by charging up at home.
Of course, there are many other benefits to an electric car, and we would be happy to tell you all about them if you contact us here at Chevy of Spring Valley. We look forward to hearing from you.
