The Suburban is the Road Trip King

If there is one thing people know about Suburbans, they are big, and by that, they mostly mean long. While plenty of 3-row SUVs and crossovers are in the market, precious few can combine three rows for people with room in the back for all their things, like a Suburban. If you have a big family or a normal-sized family that is big on activities, you can’t go wrong with buying a Suburban here at Chevrolet of Spring Valley

New Chevrolet Suburban Rear Cargo SpaceUnmatched in Carrying People and Their Things

The Spring Valley area is surrounded by a wide expanse of open space, meaning that many road trips involve long distances. Nothing eats up miles like the diesel-powered Suburban. It can carry from seven to nine people and has a total of 41.5 cubic feet of enclosed cargo space. At the same time, the Suburban’s available Duramax 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine can smoothly do its job with an EPA-rated highway mileage of 27 mpg.

With a 60/40 split in both the second and third-row seatbacks, you can maximize the cargo space with any number of people in the vehicle. With all rear seats folded, you get a whopping 144.7 cubic feet of portable storage.

2024 Chevrolet Suburban TowingBuilt to Tow

When it comes to towing, the Suburban will pull up to 8,300 pounds. It can be equipped with several towing-specific technologies, including an available four-corner adaptive air ride suspension and a blind spot monitor that takes your trailer into account. With 460 lb-ft of torque, the Durmax turbo diesel is easily up to the task of pulling your load up and down mountains if you head that far.

It is hard to quantify the sense of satisfaction from cruising down the highway in a Suburban fully loaded with people and things. All your passengers have plenty of room. There are USB jacks for their devices, and the vehicle feels like a locomotive, steady and unphased by inclines and crosswinds. It feels unstoppable and can be used for a maximum estimated range of over 640 miles. However, with a robust braking system, the Suburban is quite stoppable when you need it. A 2021 Car and Driver road test of the current design Suburban High Country was able to come from 70 to full-stop in 166 feet, which is a shorter distance than many smaller vehicles they tested. Car and Driver pointed to the Mazda3 compact hatchback as an example.

There Is a Suburban for You

The Suburban has six trim levels to balance out desires and budget. The model line starts with an RWD LS model that starts at $61,195 with the 5.3-liter V8, though most everyone in our area opts for 4WD at $64,195. Each step up adds more features and, in some cases, a theme. The RST has a street-sport focus, while the Z71 adds off-road capability. At the top is the very luxurious High Country with 4WD and Duramax as standard, with a starting MSRP of $83,395. Along the way, you will encounter vast quantities of leather, a Bose® 10-speaker Surround with CenterPoint® audio system, 12-way power heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and the spectacular Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system, among several other creature comforts. If the High Country price appears to enter Cadillac Escalade territory, Chevrolet of Spring Valley has an entire blog post about that.

If you enjoy road trips with plenty of people and possibly your favorite toy following behind or simply don’t want to travel lightly, the Suburban is for you. Visit Chevrolet of Spring Valley to see all the Suburban can do for you.
