What Does Tech Influencer Brownlee Have to Say About the Chevrolet Silverado EV?

Marques Brownlee is a very influential tech influencer who has millions of subscribers on YouTube and on other social media platforms. Brownlee’s expertise in technology led him to do a huge share of automotive content across his platforms. In fact, his “Auto Focus” YouTube channel, mostly focusing on electric vehicles, has over one million subscribers.  

The New Jersey-based YouTuber’s latest take on the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST has already garnered over 900,000 views. Brownlee had a lot to say about our new electric pickup truck.  

The first thing Brownlee liked the most was the range. Chevrolet states that the 2024 Silverado EV RST has a range of 440 miles. Brownlee stated when he charged it to 100%, he observed a 475-mile range. Brownlee stated it was “not shocking” to see such a range. Brownlee liked the aero(dynamics) of the Silverado EV RST and considered it to be a factor for the longer range.  

Another aspect of the 2024 Silverado EV RST that Brownlee liked was the one-pedal driving and regenerative braking to recover energy back to the battery. He cited that he accomplished it in Normal driving mode. The paddles can be used to increase or reduce the amount of regenerative braking.  

In addition, Brownlee pointed out the adapter he had that would enable the Silverado EV RST to use the Tesla Supercharger network. It is a simple adapter that connects the Silverado EV’s receptacle for the Tesla plug to be inserted.  

We should note that Brownlee was impressed with the Silverado EV RST’s 1,500-pound payload and 10,000-pound maximum towing ratings.  

Another attribute of the Silverado EV RST that Brownlee discovered was the massive amount of storage inside the cab and bed. He was blown away by the five-foot eleven-inch bed with the Multi-Flex midgate and the Multi-Flex tailgate. He stated that the interior is “a nice place to be…a massive space.” He found the PowerBase offboard power outlets to be useful. Another feature that wow’d Brownlee was the 10.7 cubic feet of eTrunk space up front with a power up/down hood. He noticed the cupholders and a drain plug inside the eTrunk. 

Being a tech person, Brownlee loved the convenience of Google built-in with Google Assistant as part of the 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen. He said that “as long as you log in, you can access your Google account” and its apps. Brownlee also noted that the climate control has physical switches.  

Lastly, he found how simple the Silverado EV RST was to operate. Brownlee observed that when he put on the brake, the vehicle immediately started—you just need the key fob with you.  

Overall, Brownlee was “impressed” enough that the Silverado EV RST “shot up to the top of the list (of) full-size pickup trucks.” Chevrolet of Spring Valley thinks you would be as impressed as a tech influencer was about the Silverado EV.
