New GM EV Truck

2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Exterior Chargin PortAccording to a recent report, General Motors appears to be considering adding a new vehicle to its roster. The vehicle in question, for which the company has apparently already built a prototype to show certain focus groups for feedback, will be a new entry-level pickup truck slated beneath the Canyon and Colorado. It remains to be seen which brand this new truck will belong to, but it makes most sense on the Chevrolet, or perhaps GMC, lineup.

While there aren’t a ton of compact trucks on the market these days, two recent additions to the marketplace have shown that the segment can be successful – the Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Maverick. According to reports, this new GM truck would be even smaller than these two options. Individuals who have seen the prototype also describe it as having a low roofline, only two doors and a bed that’s just four to 4.5 feet. With the small size and positioning as an entry level vehicle, it’s easy to assume the vehicle will be marketed as an affordable electric vehicle as well, which means its price tag could be less than $30,000.

At this point, these are the only real details we have. The vehicle is in the earliest stages of development and production hasn’t even been greenlit, so we don’t know if the model will actually make it to the lineup or not. With the recent success of those two aforementioned models, however, we certainly think it’s possible. We’ll be paying close attention to this story and be sure to fill you in with any additional details if they become available.
